Artem Belisarius

Margrave Tetrarch of the Precentor Tetrarchy

Like Ultimo, Belisarius rose to the rank of Tetrarch as a result of his martial prowess, emerging as one of two triumphal heroes of the Nexonian Trial of Succession. A lifelong soldier, he achieved the position of Legate under Primarch Arcadius, serving dutifully in numerous wars with neighbouring states and helping to expand the Tetrarchy’s borders. Upon Arcadius’ death, Belisarius played a key role, in concert with Tetricus, in installing Acheron upon the Primarch’s throne.

Belisarius rules over a large periphery territory of the Tetrarchy’s borders with numerous minor political states, as well as the limited border with the Chazrak Union. His long service to Acheron’s family has made Belisarius a fixture in the Primarch’s court, where he has become a keen political actor, often brokering deals between powerful Precentor interests.

Despite his political acumen and success as a governor, Belisarius, like Ultimo, harbours an ever-longing desire to return to a life on campaign. For a time, this common aspiration, and their shared wartime exploits, created a strong bond between the two junior Tetrarchs. Over the past two decades, however, the pair have grown further apart — each tending to his own domain, focused on building their dynastic legacies. It has been many years since Belisarius last spoke with Ultimo, though by all accounts their tentative alliance remains intact.
